Finding You

Sometimes in life there are so many things that open your eyes. These things bring you to a place of realization and you must pay attention to them.

Your spirituality is one such thing, always pay attention to the energy around you.

Recent events have opened our eyes to a few things we would like to highlight that may be what you need to help “Finding You”.

#1 Your Role in the life of others

The role of a parent and the importance of emitting positivity in the life of our children is one such aspect that should not be taken for granted.

Parents should ensure whatever signal, whatever energy, whatever example exhibited is one that the child is willing to follow. The children are always looking on, yet at times we say things to them that we ourselves are doing the opposite. Parents have to remember what one’s role in the child’s life is as a parent/mother/father/adult first.

Situations arise at times, and you just have to take a step back and think about what you say or how you behave. Whether you want to deal with it or run from it, you have to decide.

One has to be conscious of the signals being sent to others. You are always being observed by others, whether it be friends, family, or others that look towards you in some kind of mentor/leadership role. These signals can create an image to others you may not wish to produce.

So it is pertinent to know your role and think of how you want others to see you and what example you have set for others to follow.

#2 Your Creativity

You have to just be your creative self.

Many persons may not know their potentially creative side. However, be encouraged to tap into it, find it, embrace it.

There is so much to offer. So many of us have hidden talents we just never share or embrace, yet these hidden talents have so much to give and differences to make. So find your creative you, own it, respect it, embrace it, share it!

#3 Your Respect and Protection of others

We all should remember to respect not just ourselves but others too.

There are situations we all may have seen that have disappointed our own feel of respect. For example, a man attacking a woman instead of doing what should be to protect her.

Sometimes if we just pause the anger, and try to see the other person’s side of the fence, respect would reign much easier. We must aim to show respect for ourselves by also showing respect for others.

Another thing which we should aim to do is to protect the person’s in our space. By extension too protect others who are deemed more vulnerable than we are. The children, elderly and so many others.

Respect works hand in hand with protection. The more we respect others, the more we aim to protect them from those less than questionable characters who try to hurt them.

#4 Your Basic Human Decency

Be decent, exhibit simple decency.

Storytime- So the other day, someone hit my car, left a note. In the end I found out, it was someone I knew very well. This person left the note, not knowing who it was (thinking it was a stranger). However, out of being conscious of others, knowing it would not rest well with him, he left the note with contact details.

Simply put it would have bothered him to not apologize or offer corrective measures for his mistake. In essence, he just had basic human decency. In the end, the issue was easily resolved and just that small gesture made a whole lot of difference in how the situation unraveled.

We just have to be conscious of others. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” to put it simply. Small basic acts of decency, makes a world of difference and helps you to enable that positive light in you.

#5 Honour your word

Alot of times persons say they will do things and make countless promises, which never come to fruition. After a while, this person becomes known as untrustworthy. You don’t expect much from them and you may not even waste your time believing the first word they utter. Do you want to be that person? I should hope not.

Be a person of your word. If you state you will do something, then commit to the action. Get it done or try at least.

Sometimes with the simplest of things stated, persons should be able to believe you will do it. For example, you made a bet, yet you lost….then it is only fair to carry out the bet according to your words. (Side note though, be careful of your gamble, lol) However, the point is be a person of your words.

Words are very powerful. Being that person that keeps their words creates a positive circle, where people trust and respect you. This in essence keeps your space positive.

#6 Your Spirituality

Never be afraid to embrace your spirituality. Be in touch with your spirituality regardless of what others think.

Own your spirituality and what it represents.

Protect your space, your energy. Keep positive people in your space. Yes positive.

The energy you surround yourself with is very crucial. The type of energy you embrace can shape how all other things come together in your life.

Be encouraged to embrace your spirituality and know where and what you stand for in this world.

#7 Your Values vs Society Norms

It is important that we know what we stand for, what our values are. Your own values are influenced by many factors, however we all should know what we let society tell us to do versus what we believe.

It is important to learn about your culture, understand your origins. This knowledge base also shapes how we make decisions in this society and to an extent how we deal with challenges that may have been imposed due to societal norms.

So learn what you can and once again, know what your stance is. Everyone sees things from a different perspective, but it is about knowing and finding you.

Also, try to understand the difference between your values and beliefs and the norms of the society. There are many influences on our personality, and beliefs, but one has to decipher what is morally correct as supposed to what is the accepted norms imposed on us by society.

At times the societal norms, are just due to popularity, but may not be what you should stand with. So it is for you to find yourself and know what you will accept or reject accordingly.

In essence, find your values and represent you at all times.

Ladies and Gents, we will end to say thisDiscover Yourself!
